🗞 AI for the Rest of Us
Educators need AI. I've been building a company in AI, leading me back to the world of education.

On Connecting the Dots
In May, I announced I was going all in on artificial intelligence (AI). Little did I know the quick, winding road that would set me on.
- I started consulting with businesses in May. Soon, my friend Scott and I built an AI tool for non-profits.
- This tool uncovered a need for easier payment solutions for AI software. We started building this in June.
- These payment solutions showed more help was needed to build the tools before integrating payments. We raised money and developed Chipp, an easy way to build AI tools.
I initially took a break from this blog to focus 100% on Chipp. And then, we learned one important lesson:
Educators need AI. Specifically, educators need Chipp.
The ideas I had been exploring and the people I had been interviewing for this blog were the exact people who were using and sharing Chipp.
I thought I was focusing on my business. Instead, my business brought me back.
I actually needed to dive deeper into these ideas and people. I needed to focus more on making it easier to understand and use AI. I'm excited to do just that.
Thus, today's post. I'm back baby! 💪
On Educators as AI Builders
AI makes it easier to share our knowledge. Our knowledge makes AI more shareable.
We all have access to the same all-powerful AI tools. By adding our unique knowledge, we create individual tools others can use.
That's what we have seen people doing with Chipp. They are adding meeting notes, presentations, and recordings from webinars and workshops.
Educators are often thought of as teachers. The truth is we all have specific knowledge that we want to share. We are all educators. We need to bring this unique information and perspective into technology like AI to make it more powerful, personal, and human.
On Educators Using AI Globally
The past month I've helped educators in Saudi Arabia learn to integrate AI into their classrooms. I learned that curiosity, slight trepidation, and a wide range of experiences are not unique to businesses and schools in the US. It's the same elsewhere.
Fortunately, I could share ideas and examples with my friends Vriti Saraf and Mike Peck. Together we shared the top AI tools for educators. Learn more here. Watch the video below.
On AI as an Internal Tool and Lead Generator
I initially thought of AI as a product. What's clear is AI, in the short term, has a much greater impact on existing businesses and processes. As an MIT study demonstrated, using AI can increase performance by 40%.
The easiest AI tool to create today is a GPT - a chatbot you can train. However, there are a few major limitations to GPTs:
I see more people using GPTs to generate leads, improve performance across teams, and share knowledge.
I'm excited to see how this fast-moving field evolves. I'll be here to share big ideas and conversations with the builders behind AI and learning.
On More Learning
If you want to hear more, here's a few other places I'm sharing ideas:
- FiveMin.AI Substack - I share video tutorials with guides on how to use AI in your work and life
- Chipp YouTube - We post video tutorials, interviews, and company updates on YouTube
- Chipp Substack - Follow company updates and demos on our company blog
